VOTE FOR KATE!

Hello Friends!

We just submitted an adventurous dog picture of our girl "Kate" on http://dogsneedadventure.com for the chance to win some outdoor gear, and our photo could be featured in Outside Magazine.

But we need your help to make it happen!

Please go to:  http://www.dogsneedadventure.com/#/browse , click on 'search', type in 'Kate', and vote!

IN THE ELEMENT - OUR LABRADOR KATE'S FIRST FISHING TRIP

It finally came.  One of my most favorite weekends of the year...the opening of fishing season.  A few days ago my husband and I took advantage and headed to one of our favorite spots...The Oregon Outback.  With the whole place to ourselves, we took advantage of the quiet, the beauty, and the harvesting of some very nice trout. With Kate in tow, this was her first official fishing trip and her first experience of riding on the float tube.

Coming into the valley, we witnessed the often seen dust storms coming off the desert floor.

An absolutely gorgeous day

This one has become quite fond of the water

With all of her senses working overtime, Kate was very much in her element.

Helping dad keep an eye on his fishing line

A beautiful high mountain lake trout

Katie couldn't make up her mind whether she wanted to be with mom on the float tube or dad on the shore, so she took turns.

The very curious little one with her first encounter with a fish.

Learning the ropes

After hours of swimming and running around the lake, this one finally settled down to make a bed in the pine needles.
